No Camera Detected Macbook Pro

broken image

hi. the webcam on my macbook pro does not work. i bought the laptop new. i have never been able to use the webcam. i noticed the problem after warranty expired. Mac OS said i have no webcam…. since then i have experienced the exact same problem also in other operating systems like Windows 7 and 10 as well as many different Linux distributions. i have never done anything to the laptop. i have never opened it or had any repairs done to it. i want to sell the laptop but unfortunately the non-functioning webcam takes from the value so i want to fix the webcam.

This is unfortunately a common issue with MacOs, it should be fixable by restarting your Mac. If that doesn't work then it's a hardware issue. If it happens again there is a quick fix using the terminal, just close everything, open terminal and ty.

is there something i can do to at least troubleshoot the issue. maybe it is a very simple problem to fix with help of someone with enough knowledge of this device.

i thank you kindly in advance.

Is this a good question?
